Supporting you to calm your inner voice
Whether it’s to manage your anxiety and/or depression in your personal life or workplace, ‘Calming your Inner Voice’ writer and Mental Health advocate Maria will provide honest experiences of the struggle with her mental health and hopes that her advice will support you on a similar journey.
Let’s go on a journey together
We all have thoughts, judgements and emotions, it’s normal. You can’t wish them away as they will just get stronger and your inner voice will get louder. I admit, that I still struggle with this every day so my advice isn’t to ignore them but embrace them. My writing provides a space for me to let out my thoughts, judgements and emotions in the hope that it can help you as I learn from my everyday experiences.
Meet Maria
Writer, Mental Health Advocate, Mum and full-time laugher*
My passion is to help others going through a hard time to manage their anxiety or depression. My hope is that by reading my articles you will see that the thoughts going through your head are normal and there is a way to see through them. I specialise in the well-being and management of mental health in the workplace. My certification as a Mental Health First Responder (MHFR) equips me with the skills to use LIFT and ACT to help people reach out for support and implement initiatives that provide long-term benefits to organisations.
*Obviously, I am not always this happy, but it’s okay to laugh even when you’re down.
“You cannot do a kindness too soon, for you never know how soon it will be too late.”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson

I personally support the charity run by the fabulous Abbie ‘Letters of Hope’ by sending handwritten letters of positivity, hope and strength which are then forwarded to people who need it most. To volunteer or to receive a letter of hope, please reach out to Letters of Hope.
